Lokips is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains the data we collect, why we collect it, how we share it, and the rights you have under the DPDP Act, 2023.

Lokips ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our platform at lokips.com and associated services (the "Platform").

By using Lokips, you consent to the data practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Platform.

2. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

• Account registration data: name, email address, phone number, username, password
• Profile information: bio, location, optional links, and profile picture
• Content you post: text posts, images, videos, code snippets, AI tools, and projects
• Web Network data: tool or project files, descriptions, collaboration details, and publishing settings
• Banking details: account number, IFSC code, PAN number, UPI ID (for revenue withdrawal)
• Communication data: direct messages, comments, and collaboration requests
• Service booking data: Developer Help and Startup Consultation requests

Information Collected Automatically

• Device information: browser type, operating system, device type
• Usage data: pages viewed, features used, time spent, click patterns
• Impression data: content views, ad impressions, engagement metrics
• Log data: IP address, access times, referring URLs

Information from Third Parties

We may receive information about you from third-party services you connect to your Lokips account, with your authorization.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

• To provide, operate, and maintain the Platform
• To personalize your experience, including your microblogging feed, recommendations, and search results
• To process transactions including service bookings, advertising payments, and revenue payouts
• To support publishing, private uploads, collaboration, and AI-tool discovery through the Web Network
• To calculate and distribute revenue sharing to eligible creators
• To display relevant advertisements based on your interests and activity
• To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and Terms violations
• To implement file fingerprint protection for published projects
• To generate trending topics and platform analytics
• To send notifications about account activity, messages, and platform updates
• To provide customer support and respond to inquiries
• To comply with legal obligations

4. Data Sharing

Public Information

The following information may be publicly visible on the Platform: your profile name, username, bio, published posts, published AI tools or projects, and community memberships. You can control the visibility of certain information through Settings.

Information Shared with Other Users

• Your posts, comments, and published tools are visible to other users as permitted by your privacy settings
• Private tools and projects are shared only with collaborators you invite or approve
• Collaboration requests include your name and message, shared with the project owner

Information Shared with Third Parties

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:

• Payment processors for transaction processing
• Cloud service providers for data storage and infrastructure
• Analytics providers to improve Platform performance
• Legal authorities when required by law, court order, or to protect our rights
• Identity verification partners for account verification (when applicable)

5. Advertising & Impression Tracking

Lokips uses impression tracking to serve relevant advertisements and calculate creator revenue. We track:

• Which content you view and for how long (impression data)
• Advertisements you view, click, or skip
• Your interests based on content engagement for ad targeting

You can report inappropriate advertisements using the report feature. Reported ads are reviewed and may be removed from your feed.

Lokips does not share your personal data with advertisers. Advertisers receive only aggregate, anonymized performance metrics for their campaigns.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Specific retention periods include:

• Account data: retained until account deletion is requested
• Posts and content: retained until deleted by user or removed for policy violation
• Impression logs: retained for 12 months for analytics and revenue calculation
• Transaction records: retained for 7 years as required by Indian tax law
• Banking details: retained until user removes them or account is deleted
• Communication data (DMs): retained until deleted by participants

7. Your Rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and applicable laws, you have the following rights:

• Right to Access: Request a copy of your personal data
• Right to Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data
• Right to Erasure: Request deletion of your personal data
• Right to Grievance Redressal: File complaints regarding data handling
• Right to Nominate: Designate a nominee to exercise your data rights

8. Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information, including encryption of data in transit using TLS/SSL, secure storage of passwords using industry-standard hashing, access controls limiting data access to authorized personnel, and regular security reviews and monitoring.

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's Privacy

Lokips is not intended for individuals under the age of 11. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 11. If we discover that we have collected data from a child under 11, we will delete that information promptly. If you believe a child under 18 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@lokips.com.

10. Cookies & Local Storage

Lokips uses browser local storage to maintain your session, preferences, and platform data. We do not use third-party tracking cookies. Local storage data remains on your device and is not transmitted to third parties.

11. International Data Transfers

Your data is primarily stored and processed in India. If we transfer data outside India, we will ensure appropriate safeguards are in place as required by the DPDP Act and applicable regulations.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or platform notification at least 14 days before taking effect. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy indicates when it was last revised.
